I struggled with coming up with the TBR this month because I didn’t know what vibe I wanted to go with (cosy witchy? spooky scary? autumnal?) Or if I just didn’t want to go with a vibe and just let myself go for my usual sort of style. Which delayed me in coming up with my TBR, but in the end I decided that the TBR isn’t supposed to be stressful! It’s just guidelines for the month! So vibe aside, this is what I have put in my TBR for October:
Series I’d like to start

The Serpent & Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent – A Crown of Nyaxia Novel #1 / The Nightborn Duet #1

The Unmarked Witch by Miranda Lyn – Unmarked #1

Seris I’d like to continue (written information)
Reckless by Lauren Roberts – The Powerless Trilogy #2
Kings Cage by Victoria Aveyard – Red Queen #3
Bespelled by Laura Thalassa – Bewitched #2
Standalones I’d like to read

Standalones I’d like to read (written information)
Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood
How to Survive a Horror Movie by Scarlett Dunmore
Th1rt3en by Steve Cavanagh (I believe this is technically part of a series, but all books can be read alone)
How realistic is the above?
Honestly, this is the most ambitious TBR I’ve had… But I’m excited about all of them! If I reach them, then brilliant. I might try to read Stone Cold Touch (White Hot Kiss sequel) this month also, but only because it is a comfort read for me and so if I get overwhelmed then I can spend a night with a familiar book. I will have to really fight to not re-read The Selection series which I was really tempted by already because of Powerless, in September.
There are a lot of new authors to me in this list (6 out of the 10!), and so there is a lot of chances that I won’t get on with the writing styles but if you never read any new authors then how will you ever know if that book could have been your next favourite? This year so far has brought a few new authors to my attention that have quickly jumped up there into Top 5 Favourite Author territory!
Lets see how October goes! Let’s grab our blankets and our cups of tea and huddle on the sofa with our books. It’s autumn! Cozy book reading season is upon us! Happy reading everyone!
