I usually begin my TBR’s with a quick comment on the previous month and then the left overs from that month that are carrying forward… Well February just ended up being a particuarly hard month which resulted in not so much reading (but plenty of time watching Supernatural with my fiancé so, a win still). I’m of course continuing with the series’ that I’m loving – and a few of those will be coming to an end this month if I get to them! So, room for some of those old unfinished series’ to finally get touched! I’ve also got a priority request this month from one of my friends so I am hoping to get to that pretty early on if I can… We shall see how March goes!

Priority

The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang – The Poppy War #1 – When I requested books for my ’12 books to read in 2025′ challenge one of my friends didn’t have a recommendation… However he read The Poppy War this year and has requested that I get to it ASAP (Preferably in March!) and so I’m adding it to my TBR as Priority! I’m pretty sure this is Historical Fiction which is not usually my genre – but I enjoyed What the River Knows, so here I am continuing to branch out!

The Series Continues

Famine by Laura Thalassa – (The Four Horseman #3) – At this point I’m clearly just a sucker for the rest of the Four Horseman because I loved Pestilence, War was great too, and I can’t wait to meet Famine.
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (25 Challenge) – (Throne of Glass #3) – I am excited and nervous for this!! But I am really glad that I am having a good time with this series so far – hopefully that gives me the push to keep going.
Fifty Fifty by Steve Cavanagh – (Eddie Flynn #5) – I’m not rereading Thirteen before going into Fifty Fifty, my own fault for reading them out of order, but at least I’m back on track now! Got to have my monthly dose of Eddie Flynn, so I will try not to continue reading this series as I love having these books as a break between all the fantasy books!
Wisteria by Adalyn Grace – (Belladonna #3) – After finishing Foxglove I honestly have no idea where book 3 is going… Wisteria is the last main book to the Belladonna trilogy – although a novella, Holly, has been recently announced!
The Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli – (The Crimson Moth #2) – I was late to The Crimson Moth game, but I will not be late to The Rebel Witch! I am hoping that this sequel is as good as the early reviewers say it is and it joins The Shepherd Duology on my list of ‘Duologies actually worth reading!’ As currently I don’t have a lot of them…
Where the Library Hides by Isabel Ibañez – (Secrets of the Nile #2) – I will only get to this one in March if Kay has time to read it, otherwise I’ll push it aside as I’m intending to buddy read it alongside her.

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson (Challenge 25) – (Mistborn #2) – I would like to get to The Well of Ascension if I can, but I’m not sure that it will happen in March, but I’m putting it out there just in case it does happen!

New Adventures

These first three are the priority for me this month in terms of ‘new adventures’ with the first two being carry overs from February’s TBR, and Our Infinite Fates being one of my most anticipated reads for 2025!
The Sword of Kaigen by M.L Wang – Stand Alone – After Blood Over Bright Haven was that good and that much of a surprise, I knew The Sword of Kaigen had to jump the ranks and be read as soon as possible. Do I know much about it? No. All I know is the author wrote a brilliant book and so she probably wrote another brilliant book. Everyone seems to love The Sword of Kaigen on TikTok too!
For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn – (Hell’s Belles #1) – I have followed this TikTokers creation of Hell’s Belles for ages – not quite from conception, but it feels pretty damn close. I knew her book was coming out, but the release of it in January caught me off guard and so I didn’t get to read it. Therefore it’s a priority read in February.
Our Infinite Fates by Laura Steven – Stand Alone – TikTok knew it what it was doing when it kept showing me Laura Steven’s videos about this book over and over again… I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this was going to be high up on my ‘must read ASAP’ list for 2025.

And in terms of a priority, these three are the books I’ll sacrifice if I decide I want to continue reading series’ from the first section… But I am still really hoping to get to them as soon as possible!
The Book of Azrael by Amber V. Nicole – Gods and Monsters #1 – This is one that is on my physical shelf, and has been cropping up more and more lately! So, I’d like to dip my toes in and give it a go! Funnily enough, this was one of the first books I purchased back in July 2024 as I was really getting back into reading!
Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yahsao – Stand Alone – I’m mostly a series reader, dipping my toes into duologies and stand alones… and so I’m glad to have a stand alone on my TBR whenever I have one that intrigues me! Water Moon is definitely intriguing and one of my most anticipated releases of 2025! I can’t wait.
The Baby Dragon Cafe by Aamna Qureshi – The Baby Dragon Cafe #1 – Another of my most anticipated releases, and I’ve heard a number of people saying good things about this cosy read!

Book Club Read

The Will of the Many by James Islington
Wow, what a book club pick. This chunky book has been on my TBR for a while, but only because everyone was singing it’s praises… not because I actually knew anything about it. So, let’s see if they hype was worth it!

How realistic is the above?

The start of the year is always harder for me than the end of the year! February was no excpetion. Until the last couple of days, February truly had knocked me on my arse! So, to combat that I decided to force myself to be okay with not reading my TBR this month if it means that while I’m enjoying a series, I’ve picked up the next one and kept reading… Perhaps this way I might get to finish a couple of series this month?

Whether that happens or I read my TBR (or any other number of books on my longer TBR) as long as I continue reading I will be happy! The amount of books might be somewhat realistic for March assuming I have an easier month outside of reading so we shall see. There are a few chunky books on my TBR this month however, so that might slow me down a bit.

So, let’s grab our cuppa and a blanket – get cosy because we’ve got some reading to do! What are you hoping to read this month?
