Synopsis: Goodreads

They’ve loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They’ve killed each other in every one.

Evelyn remembers all her past lives. She also remembers that in every single one, she’s been murdered before her eighteenth birthday by Arden, a supernatural being whose soul―and survival―is tethered to hers.

The problem is that she’s quite fond of the life she’s in now, and her little sister needs her for bone marrow transplants in order to stay alive. If Evelyn wants to save her sister, she’ll have to:

1. Find the centuries-old devil who hunts her through each life―before they find her first.
2. Figure out why she’s being hunted and finally break their curse.
3. Try not to fall in love.

Review:

Our Infinite Fates was one of my most anticipated new releases for 2025, and it didn’t disappoint. I had a good time whilst reading about this couple who are fated to fall in love in every life, but also to kill each other in every life… And whilst it wasn’t the perfect read, I did love our main characters and their story (flaws and all). The ending even had a twist that I just simply didn’t see coming.

We follow Evelyn / Bran (Present day) as she tries to hatch a plan that will prevent Arden from carrying out the task of killing her before she turns 18… all in order to be able to give bone marrow to her sister who was dying and going to die without it. Problem is, she has no idea who Arden is in this life and no idea why they kill each other before they’re 18 because Arden won’t tell her… So figuring out a way out of it is harder than she thought.

I loved Laura’s writing – I’m new to her work but it was a really easy read. The kind where you can just switch off and enjoy it. There were flash backs to the past as we’re introduced to our main characters previous lives, but they were clearly labelled and you always knew that they were from Evelyn’ / Bran’s point of view.’s POV. I didn’t feel like the flash backs messed with the pacing of the book, but I did find that they actually helped me connect with and believe the romance side of this more than the present day chapters.

Arden’s character I really felt for. Once you find out the real reason why he’s doing what he’s doing, it felt impossible to not care for him. Not to mention, the poor guy had his book of poetry published without his approval! The guy pours his heart and soul into that book!! Then it was just out there for everyone (including Evelyn who he hadn’t shown it to before) to read! 😕 He got the short end of the stick absolutely – but I do believe things could have been handled better if he’d just communicated with Evelyn. Once he got over what he needed to get over, anyway.

The romance, specifically of the present day Evelyn and Arden, was the thing I struggled with most. I didn’t believe it. I couldn’t understand how these two supposedly love each other. And by the end of the book, I still wasn’t completely sold on the romance between them, but many of the flashbacks really did sell the romance to me. But unfortunately, given that the romance these two share is one of the main selling points of the novel… it just didn’t hit with me the way I had hoped it would.

As a result of that, while writing the review I realised that the 4 star rating originally given was too generous and I did lower it to 3.5 stars. I refuse to go lower than that, even if the main selling point missed the mark for me. Like I said, I did have a good time with it, and only ever put it down because I was exhausted. I’d have read it in one go if I had the ability to have done so when I started it.

“I love you, I have loved you, and I will love you.”

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.
