We are now heading into May, which means it’s time for another look at the 2025 challenges and to see where we are at!
March and April have not been particularly good for all the challenges… You’ll see why below.
challenge 1: 12 Books to read inspired by…

Nothing has changed on this challenge, I had Anathema on my April TBR but just never got round to it. So for now, no change on the ’12 Books to read inspired by’ challenge.
Challenge 2: enter the cosmere
Similar to the first challenge, The Well of Ascension was on my April TBR I just didn’t get to it. That means there has been no change on Enter the Cosmere either.

challenge 3: bingo!
There have been a few additions to the BINGO board! And we’ve actually completed quite the number of Bingos! That’s fun. I think I might make a new board up once I complete this one, because this was a fun one! Though next time, I really will stick to not including any books that are in any of the other challenges rule!!

We’ve added:
An Entire Book Series – The Mindf*ck Series by S.T. Abby
An Audiobook – The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
A BookTok Book – For Whom the Belle Tolls by Jaysea Lynn
Has a Pretty Cover – The Rebel Witch by Kristen Ciccarelli
Started Previously but didn’t finish – Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
Writetn by a BIPOC Author – The Poppy War by R.F Kuang
Finished in One Day – Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao
challenge 4: sjm second chance
This challenge was one I had honestly expected to give up on the fastest and yet that has not happened and in fact I’m enjoying the books quite a bit!! There was change to this challenge in March and April. And I’m partway through book 6 at the time of writing this, which is always brilliant!
Heir of Fire – Read in March ✅
Queen of Shadows – Read in April ✅
Empire of Storms – Reading at the moment

There is still plenty of time this year to make headway on my 2025 specific challenges (12 Books to Read in 2025, and Bingo!) so I’m not too worried. And as for the Author specific challenges, I was under no delusion that I would complete both (if either) of these challenges in 2025 so it’s not a big issue that not a lot of progress has been made. I’m not stressed about it! I’m just enjoying reading!
