Review:

Fate of the Sun King is the third book in the Artefacts of Ouranos series, and as such there may be spoilers in the review for the first two books in the series. Spoilers for Fate of the Sun King will be hidden as normal.

I really enjoyed the start and the end of Fate of the Sun King. But there was a lot of lore being added into this book and with it came a lot of additional POVs and looks into the past, and with that came a lot of questions and moments where I was kind of confused or bored in the middle. I’m sad to say that because I had hope that I would enjoy the final books in the series even more because the ending of the second book definitely suggested things were going to be getting a bit crazy going forward…

And they definitely did, get crazy I mean. However, it was just surrounded by a lot of stuff that even though I can see how it is relevant, just took me out of the story every time we came to them. But, despite that, the present day chapters still had me sat! If this installment didn’t include the past chapters, I would have read this so much faster. Becuase the situation that Lor and Nadir (and the rest of their crew) find themselves in is getting more and more intense!

One of the surprise new POVs we had was Gabriel! And oh boy I didn’t realise how much I missed him until he showed up again. I loved everything he added to this book, and I’m cheering for him…
Following the end of Fate of the Sun King, I am certainly nervous for a number of characters and I am glad that I will only have to wait to find out what the conclusion is, if I make that choice myself, to read something else first.

I really like Nisha’s writing, and I don’t know if I have said it yet or not, but I will definitely be checking out her other work to see if anything piques my fancy! Because I really think she has a lot of positives about her work!!

So did I super love Fate of the Sun King, no I didn’t. But I loved more than I didn’t, and so I can’t wait to read book four.

“She’s not just my mate. Not just the woman I’ve fallen in love with. She is every star in the sky and every wish I’ve ever wanted.”
