September is a crazy month for new releases! Like absolutely unhinged in the amount of new releases we are getting. I know I will not be able to keep up with them, and that’s okay. I do try to avoid putting new releases on my TBR’s just in case for whatever reason my copy doesn’t show up when it’s meant to… but you can expect to see me go off the rails of my TBR in order to pick up certain new releases…

But we will also be celebrating my soon to be sister in law’s wedding in Italy (cross your fingers for me because my leg barely made it through a day trip to London! Let alone a three day trip (due to travel) to Italy!) so I have decided not to pull 6 prompts on my first month back at doing an actual TBR… you’ll see below.

So, first things first…

I’m in the middle of…

Verity Guild by Mai Corland – Kindle / Hardback mix
I picked this one as my travel day read to London and got 20% in and then just continued reading it from there. However the last couple days of August have been kind of a whirlwind so I just haven’t managed to finish it. I anticipate finishing it early September though!

Onto Septembers Plan!

In September I have decided to accept that I am going to go off rails, and that’s fine. So, instead of picking 6 books for my prompt list I am instead choosing 3 from what was originally July’s TBR and they are my TBR for September…

Picks from the TBR Prompt Jar!

1. A 5* Prediction

I picked Dissection of a Murder by Jo Murray because I don’t want to get burned out on fantasy but I do still want to make a dent on my physical TBR where possible. I have seen great thing about this legal thriller, including amazing things from non legal thriller lovers! So, I am very excited to pick this one up.

2. A Book with Plants on the Cover

There are a lot of books on my shelves that look like they’ll have plants on the covers, but I only ended up picking a couple to choose from. I was drawn most to Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan and that’s the only explanation there is. It was the cover I was most drawn too!

3. A Friends Recommendation

And James gave me two options – one of which I had actually got the audiobook for recently and so even though both his options were kindle unlimited reads, I went with Carl’s Doomsday Scenario by Matt Dinniman. I’m actually kind of hoping this will be my Italy read given the long travel days, but we’ll see!

However, that’s not all…

I would also like to try and make a dent in my 26 in 2026 reads as I have 14 left and I still think it’s totally possible to finish this list by the end of 2026! But I need to remember it exists and priortise it. So, in a way we are still ending up with 6 books, but the 26 in 2026 choises are flexible as long as I read 3 books from this list. These are the 3 I expect I’ll pick up:

4. Arcana Academy by Elise Kova

5. Riftborne by Grenwich & Lennox

6. The Poisoner by I.V. Ophelia

Digital TBR Take Down

There are 4 books on my TBR that could be kindle reads, and so I’m not adding a DTBRTD! However, I have got a list of 3 books (that aren’t new releases!) that I also want to try and get to in September and all of those are kindle reads too… so we could make a good dent on the digital TBR.

Bailee’s Book Club – The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig
Cody & James’ Book Club – The Unknown by Riley Sager
